The Ratio Problem

Marcus panics that AI will replace the team. Yuki has a different number in mind.

Panel 1

Marcus storms in holding his phone, mid doom-scroll.

Marcus: "This newsletter says one person can now do what five hundred used to. Are we all obsolete by Christmas?"

Panel 2

Yuki pulls up a chart. Three points: 2014, 2020, 2026.

Yuki: "Users per employee: roughly 500 in 2014. 50 in 2020. Trending toward 1. That's not extinction — that's leverage, if the operation is designed to use it."

Panel 3

Elena joins, arms crossed, not unkindly.

Elena: "The ratio only breaks the team that never redesigned its work. It doesn't break the team that did."

Panel 4

Marcus, slower now, actually thinking.

Marcus: "So the plan isn't 'survive the ratio.' It's 'be the operation the ratio was describing all along.'"
